Whelan Security Co. has recently appointed Carlos Villarreal, CST to the position of senior vice president of commercial real estate security services. In this role, Villarreal will focus on managing all high-rise and commercial real estate security programs at Whelan Security. A widely acclaimed and published author, speaker and media resource on matters related to high-rise security and life safety, emergency preparedness and response planning, Villarreal has brought his expert leadership to Whelan Security, one of the largest regional security companies in the United States.

Villarreal has proven his expertise while holding the position of director of security for Trizec Properties at the Sears Tower before, during and after September 11th.

Former Marine, member of the American Society for Industrial Security and board member of the Illinois Security Chiefs Association is just some of Villarreal’s involvement in the security industry.

This new addition also includes the 10-Star High-Rise Security Program, which offers manager- and tenant-specific programs, including vulnerability assessments, integrated emergency planning and crisis management, as well as on-going audit and compliance.
