iAccess Systems Inc., Long Beach, Calif., recently introduced the VA100 Blood Vessel Authentication System to the U.S. and international markets. The VA100 is a biometric access control device that uses the unique image of the blood vessel pattern in a finger for registration and authentication. The image is created using near infrared light and a CCD camera with incredible accuracy: an FAR of 0.0001 percent and FRR of 0.01 percent.
