Former Vice President Dick Cheney passed away at age 84 on November 3, 2025 with a public announcement on November 4, 2025.

Vice President Cheney served under two U.S. Presidents, first as Secretary of Defense under George H.W. Bush and then as Vice President under George W. Bush.

Vice President Cheney fought heart disease for decades, surviving five heart attacks and a heart transplant after his time in office.
