Survey Reveals Top Challenges of Implementing Identity Security
Keeper Security’s new survey reveals a gap between the need for identity security and the pace of practical implementation. While many organizations want to prioritize zero-trust, many face roadblocks to making this a reality. Among those surveyed, only 27.3% reported effective implementation of zero-trust within their organization.
Identity-based threats are becoming automated and more sophisticated, in part due to AI. Only 16.4% say they are confident in their ability to protect against AI-driven identity attacks. As a result, phishing, social engineering and deepfakes are prominent concerns for respondents for the next 12 to 18 months.
The top challenges to implementing identity security include:
- Deployment complexity (30%)
- Integration problems with legacy systems (27.3%)
- Inadequate leadership support (20%)
Privileged access management (PAM) is another area where respondents report struggling, with the following errors mentioned:
- Failing to enforce multi-factor authentication (40%)
- Not removing unnecessary privileges (33.6%)
- Not utilizing a PAM solution (32.7%)
