International
Gem Tower to Feature Security Solutions Designed by G4S
G4S,
in integrated security solutions, has been retained to design and deploy the
security infrastructure for the International Gem Tower (IGT) currently under
construction in New York’s Diamond District. Looking to re-define how business
is done in New York and the global diamond and jewelry marketplace, IGT
developer, Extell Development Company, hired G4S to create a secure working
environment that is unparalleled in the industry.
“G4S
is a recognized leader in the design, implementation and operation of
professional security systems. In an industry like ours—where security is
paramount—we’re thrilled to benefit from the advantages this global group has
to offer,” says Raizy Haas, says Extell senior vice president. “To develop our
systems, we’re looking at what other trading centers in the world are doing as
benchmarks that we intend to surpass.”
Patrick
de Cavaignac, president of Touchcom, a G4S Technology company, hails the
installation at IGT will be unlike any other as it truly integrates the best in
manpower and state-of-the-art technology from a single source. “By carefully
assessing the comprehensive security and operational requirements of IGT, we
are delivering solutions that fulfill specific needs.”
The
International Gem Tower’s custom-designed security system will encompass a
comprehensive range of services integrating G4S’ premier security personnel
with the latest advancements in security technology. The proprietary system,
designed exclusively for the IGT, will complement the services and amenities
the Tower offers to business owners and their customers.
“In
addition to the peace of mind a safe and secure environment provides, advanced
security solutions designed by G4S for the Tower should bode well on insurance
premiums,” notes Joseph Lipton, IGT partner.
The
jewelry trade, notes Keith Whitelock, CEO of G4S Technology, is one of many
industries where the need to protect people, property and assets is a critical
priority. “Our security solutions will enhance the experience for all who enter
the International Gem Tower. Together, IGT and G4S are redefining how
business—and security—are done in a project that will set the standard for
trading centers in the future!”
Jupiter
Systems, a supplier of display wall processors for command and control
applications, announced shipment of its new Fusion Catalyst products to installations
in the U.S., Western Europe, and Russia. The first shipment was made to Marine
Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA), based at Camp Pendelton, CA.
MCTSSA is the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF) Command, Control,
Communications, Computers and Intelligence (C4I) Systems Engineering
Interoperability, Architecture, and Technology (SIAT) center for the United
States Marine Corps. Other systems from the new Fusion Catalyst product line
have been shipped to commercial users in Europe and Russia.

1000 and 4000 models. (Photo: Business Wire) High Performance, Seamless
Transition Fusion Catalyst processors deliver superior performance with up to
192 Gbps of internal bandwidth that can carry a vast number and variety of
video signals, and drive ultra-high resolution displays. It offers an
extraordinary range of flexibility and can handle up to 376 analog or streaming
SD video inputs, up to 94 DVI/VGA or HD component video inputs, and up to 96
graphic outputs, all controlled by a powerful drag-and-drop user interface.
This immense configuration space is unique in the industry. Moreover, Fusion
Catalyst is the only processor to handle dual-link DVI (up to 2560 x1600
resolution) on both input and output. In addition, Fusion Catalyst offers the
reliable 24/7 system availability and hot swappable components that Jupiter
pioneered and its customers have come to expect.
Fusion
Catalyst sets a new industry standard with an extremely broad configuration
space, high performance and stunning video quality, yet it does so at a new,
lower price point. It runs the same powerful, feature-rich ControlPoint
software, which means drop-in compatibility and no new training requirements.
As a result, customers with existing Fusion installations can upgrade easily to
all the benefits of Fusion Catalyst.
The
Fusion Catalyst processors can be used in both large and small projects. And,
since every Fusion Catalyst model includes powerful Intel-based PC's,
applications can be run directly on the controller for display locally on the
video wall. Hundreds of small windows can be opened and spread across any
portion of the wall. Alternately, a large window can be created allowing an
application to occupy every pixel on the wall.
Arecont
Vision, in IP-based megapixel camera technology, introduced the MegaView line
of all-in-one Day/Night H.264 megapixel cameras enclosed in IP66
(environmentally rated) and vandal-resistant cylindrical (bulletstyle)
housings. Models are available in 1.3 megapixel and 1080p resolution, each with
an integrated megapixel IR-corrected lens. Each MegaView camera is also
available in a model with an integrated IR LED ring that sets a new standard in
the megapixel camera market.
The
all-in-one models are more compact than using separate enclosure options, and
installation is simple using an easily adjustable 3-axis bracket and external
lens adjustment of zoom, focus and iris. The camera models are truly
plug-and-play: There is no need to open the camera during installation.
"Our
new MegaView series provides the type of turnkey product solution that
customers are looking for, simplifying installation and reducing associated
installation costs." said Raul Calderon, Vice President of Marketing,
Arecont Vision. "The integrated IR LED illumination capability opens up an
array of new applications in extreme dark conditions, further extending the
range of uses for megapixel imaging by offering a robust, easy-to-install
option for any outdoor surveillance need."
Power
options include PoE to power only the camera or 24V AC or 12-48V DC to also
support the heater and IR LED array. The IR ring is also easily
field-upgradeable. For applications requiring 1.3 megapixel imaging, Arecont
Vision offers the Model AV1325DN H.264 day/night MegaView(TM) IP camera and the
AV1325IR version with IR illumination ring option. Model AV2825DN is an HD
1080p H.264 day/night MegaView(TM) IP camera, and Model AV2825IR includes an IR
LED option.
The
new Arecont Vision MegaView cameras also provide added functionality. The
privacy mask enables video to be blocked in multiple regions in any arbitrary
shape. Extended motion detection provides a higher-granularity grid of 1,024
distinct motion detection zones (compared to 64 zones supported earlier). These
features are controlled via both HTTP and TFTP commands and by the on-camera
web interface. Flexible cropping provides even more adjustability in image
sizes.
