RS2 Partners with ICD Security Solutions to Expand Asia-Pacific Presence
RS2 Technologies, LLC, a leading provider of access control systems, has announced that it has partnered with ICD Security Solutions, a world-class provider of system integration solutions throughout the Asia-Pacific region. ICD will represent and install RS2’s cutting edge access management hardware and software through its network of offices in China, India, Singapore and Japan.
Dave Barnard, RS2’s Director of Dealer Development, recently returned from conducting sales and technical training of ICD personnel in Hong Kong and Beijing. Barnard says that “RS2 is excited about the access control market in the Asia-Pacific region, and is also very enthused about having ICD as a partner in this region. They have been a serious participant in the Asia-Pacific market for the past several years, and they certainly know their way around, especially in China.” Barnard cited ICD’s seven offices in China as evidence of their knowledge of –and commitment to– the Chinese security market.
For their part, ICD is very pleased about the association with RS2. According to ICD Americas president Dwight Schnirman, “We were attracted to RS2 because of their entrepreneurial spirit, which is typical of smaller, independently-owned firms. We have found them to be a very agile, customer-focused group.” Schnirman goes on to say that “We have been impressed with the quality of their technical support, their sales training program, and their on-time delivery.” Initially, RS2 and ICD will be collaborating on projects for their customer Northern Trust Corporation in Beijing and Hong Kong. ICD’s offices in those and five other Chinese cities will facilitate the work.
In comparing the U.S. and Asian security markets, Barnard says that “there are probably more similarities than differences.” As an example, he points out that “We found that customers in Asia are looking for many of the same things that attract our U.S. customers: ease of use, features, and of course, ease of installation. Technicians who have experience with the installation of other access control products have told us that they are amazed at the comprehensive nature of the installation package provided by RS2. They appreciate the fact that the package has every possible operating system component necessary to install the RS2 product.”
