Video and Data Up To 3000 feet.

October 19, 2007

Altronix tells Zalud’s Blog that its HubWayLD is the next generation of video/data/power products, which bring the benefits of centralized transmission to larger and more complex video surveillance installations. HubWayLD transmits UTP video and RS-422/S485 data on a single CAT-5E or CAT-6 cable for distances of up to 3000 feet.

“The new HubWayLD is a cost-effective solution for both new and existing video surveillance deployments that takes advantage of the inherent benefits associated with networked systems,” said Alan Forman, President, Altronix Corporation. “It is one more example of Altronix's commitment to providing products that offer more than just power.”

The new HubWayLD active UTP receiver hubs are available with 8 or 16 video channels in a space saving 1U rack mount chassis that fits standard 19” EIA racks or in wall mount or desktop configurations. The units can be ordered with or without integral distributed camera power outputs with several choices of power ratings that are individually selectable for 24VAC or 28VAC. The units are compatible with AC and/or DC cameras with Altronix’s 24VAC HubwayA or 12VDC HubwayD Video Balun/Combiners. In addition, the units feature built-in PTCs and surge suppression, as well as adjustments for picture quality and gain control. An accessory product, the new HubSat from Altronix, allows video feeds from four cameras to be transmitted to a remote designated location on a single structured cable while supplying the required camera power which totally eliminates the possibility of voltage drop related to long wire runs.

Altronix has also redesigned its HubWay UTP passive receiver hubs in the same space saving chassis with similar features and options with or without integral power for video transmission ranging up to 750 feet. All new HubWay models operate at 115VAC or 230VAC, 50/60Hz and include an IEC320 detachable, grounded line cord.
