Japan's Narita airport implements disinfection technology for security checkpoints
Japan's busiest airport plans to install 62 units of Ultraviolet (UV) light tray disinfection equipment throughout security checkpoints across the airport's three terminals by March 2022.
The technology, from Smiths Detection, is proven to eliminate up to 99.9% of bacteria and viruses including coronaviruses, protecting passengers and staff from tactile transmission of contagious diseases, according to the company.
