United Community Bank has announced the addition of Bob Brown as Chief Information Security Officer. Bob, who has more than two decades of experience managing business technologies, will now work closely with the bank’s executive team to monitor risk and implement security processes to help minimize threats.

“Bob is an industry veteran with extensive knowledge of IT security,” said Mark Terry, Chief Information Officer. “He has a proven track record of success and has made impressive contributions to businesses of all sizes. He will play a critical role in helping us to maintain best-in-class security systems across the board.” 

Bob’s areas of expertise include risk assessment and governance for hospitality, retail and financial services organizations. Prior to joining United, he served as the inaugural Chief Information Security Officer for Busey Bank in St. Louis, completely evolving the organization’s security program and managing threats across all bank systems.

Bob earned his Master of Science degree in Information Management from Marymount University and his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Binghamton University. Additionally, to advance the Cybersecurity profession, Bob also taught as an Adjunct Professor at Washington University at St Louis in the university’s Engineering School.
