Ind. Law Gives DHS Authority in School Security

Indiana is the first state in America to give the command and control of school security to the Department of Homeland Security and other appointed officials.
Senate Bill #147 requires the department of homeland security to establish minimum standards and approve best practices for school emergency response systems. SB 147 also requires the Department of Homeland Security to establish emergency response system guidelines.
