Home » Halifax to Test Biometric Wristband for Identity Verification
Could you access your bank account with your heartbeat? Halifax is the first UK bank to test electronic wristbands – the Nymi band – that use customers’ heartbeats to verify their identities in an effort to make online banking safer, The Guardian reports.
The technology means that people will not need to remember multiple passwords to log into their accounts. The band identifies the unique electrical signals emitted by a person’s heart. To access an account, the customer wears the band and uses a smartphone banking app and Bluetooth, which automatically connects with the wristband to verify identity.
