What are the World's 10 Deadliest Cities?
Living in Latin America, it seems, can be hazardous to your health. According to Mexican think tank, the Citizens' Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice, the 10 cities with the world's highest homicide rates are all in Latin America.
No. 1: San Pedro Sula, Honduras
No. 2: Ciudad Juárez, Mexico
No. 3: Maceió, Brazil
No. 4: Acapulco, Mexico
No. 5: Distrito Central, Honduras
No. 6: Caracas Venezuela
No. 7: Torreón, Mexico
No. 8: Chihuahua, Mexico
No. 9: Durango, Mexico
No. 10: Belém, Brazil
Beyond Latin America, New Orleans ranked first in the US on the list. According to the report, the murder rate — 58 homicides per 100,000 residents — remains the highest in the United States.
