The Port Authority of Allegheny County is improving perimeter security around its Ross bus garage as the last part of a five-year project, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.
Funded through a $928,250 Homeland Security grant, the Port Authority has installed security fencing at its other bus garages along with closed-circuit monitoring systems on the East and West busways, spokesman Jim Ritchie said. Grant money was also used to improve lighting, emergency training and a related public awareness campaign.
