International Fiber Systems (IFS), announces the introduction the Orion fiber optic communication system. The Orion system is a 896 input or 102 output virtual matrix switch that provides system designers with a cost-effective fiber optic transmission system platform for video, audio and data communications. The system utilizes industry-standard MPEG-2 compression to encode and decode the video and high-quality fiber optic transceivers to set a new standard for video quality in applications where large numbers of CCTV cameras need active monitoring.
