Sony’s SNC-VL10P network video camera is designed specifically for remote monitoring and management applications. The camera’s built-in Web server will enable users to access and view data over a LAN or the Internet with any standard web browser, such as Internet Explorer. Dedicated software will not be required. This networking capability expands the functionality from pure image acquisition to multifaceted remote surveillance. The SNC-VL10P video camera will utilize wavelet compression, which offers such benefits as: high quality compression even at a high compression ratio due to no block noise; scalable resolution and image size; and flexibility in compression ratio and bandwidth. It can be used with either an Ethernet or a USB modem direct connection.
