New York City will increase police presence, security cameras, and mental health interventions on the MTA subway system.

Major upgrades to police communications, computer systems and wireless capabilities will enable command staff to respond more quickly to crimes and emergencies. 

The new sensors will be tested after-hours to determine the real-world performance of the counter-terrorism measures.
