GE Security, Inc., a business of GE Enterprise Solutions, announced at ASIS the availability of viaMASTM, a new managed security services suite from MASterMind that integrates video, intrusion and access control into a single enterprise platform that optimizes security, enhances operational efficiencies and opens doors for new revenue opportunities. The first-of-its-kind integrated solution suite delivers three feature-rich modules - MASvideo, MASintrusion and MASaccess - to the industry's most used, and most robust central station monitoring solution.

Featuring bi-directional communication between the MASterMind open database platform and GE Security's Alliance combined intrusion and access hardware, the viaMAS solution delivers enhanced alarm handling and full access control functionality as well as remote management, programming and diagnostic capabilities to both traditional commercial and proprietary central stations.

"This is a powerful example of how GE Security is evolving our integration platforms, along with our world class product portfolios, to help our customers optimize security and grow and better manage their businesses," said Dean Seavers, president and CEO, GE Security. "We continue to invest in MASterMind and our other leading integration platforms to deliver innovative applications to help customers meet their real world security challenges."

"Today's commercial and proprietary central station operators are looking to streamline and simplify infrastructure, deliver flexibility and maintain both tight management and cost controls," said Dilip Sarangan, security analyst for Frost & Sullivan. "With viaMAS, GE Security addresses these needs and delivers a unique integrated solution that provides video, intrusion and access control functionality all on a single reliable platform."

"By bringing remote management capabilities for access control, intrusion and video into our MASterMind central station platform through viaMAS, we can manage our remotefacilities more effectively and efficiently,"said Steve Gould, electronics lead, Ashland, Inc. "With chemical plants and retail outlets across the country, this can represent a significant productivity and cost savings benefit for us."

Ashland, Inc., a diversified chemical company with more than 300 sites, is one of the first operational testers of the viaMAS solution suite.

With its ability to deliver centralized control of many remote sites, viaMAS provides commercial and proprietary central stations with operational savings in installation and maintenance, enhanced information and reporting, and improved database manageability. At the same time, security monitoring service providers can grow their business with a new access services recurring revenue stream. In addition, viaMAS opens the door for existing Alliance hardware customers to take advantage of the proven scalability of MASterMind.

Additional benefits for viaMAS users include the ability to:Obtain real-time database synchronization between hardware and softwareTransmit intrusion alarms and access control events from a single control panelLink access control and intrusion alarm events to video for improved auditingReduce user setup to a single database entryRemotely configure intrusion and access hardwareImprove facility management through linked access control and intrusion alarm privileges, reducing false alarmsProvide comprehensive intrusion alarm and access control reporting

MASterMind's open architecture provides flexibility for integration of multiple systems while maintaining database integrity. It is the most widely used monitoring solution among top security companies and wholesale monitoring centers. It is also used by a growing number of major school districts, financial institutions, retailers, and other proprietary users seeking scalable, enterprise event management capabilities for access control, video and intrusion for in-house monitoring activities.

Alliance is a uniquely integrated global hardware platform that can provide cost-effective and powerful intrusionalarmand door control capabilities while offering expansion to provide scalable, full-featured access control. Through a combination of technologies, users mayarm and disarm their alarm systems through the presentation of an access card while simultaneously archiving intrusion alarm and access control events into a single database.

The viaMAS combined MASterMind/Alliance solution is now available in the United States and will be available globally in the first half of 2009. It will be on display at the ASIS International Seminar in Atlanta at GE Security's booth number 1035.
