Governor Tom Ridge, Chairman of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce National Security Task Force, led a dynamic and interactive discussion with a panel of senior security executives from some of the world’s largest organizations at the ASIS International 60th Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2014). The discussion looked at the threats facing multinational organizations, from cyber attacks to supply chain risks. This session, was held at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Ga. on Monday, Sept. 29.
Supply chain risk management is vital for organizations that rely on extended operations, both internal and external, for their success. It involves the assessment and control of risk events at all points in an end-to-end supply chain, from sources of raw materials to end use by customers and consumers.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate and ASIS International (ASIS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the ASIS headquarters in Alexandria, Va., on Thursday, March 6, 2014. The agreement stipulates how DHS will work in partnership with ASIS to communicate the agency’s capability gaps, technology requirements, and outreach opportunities to its vendor and member communities in an effort to provide state of the art technological capabilities to its operating components and the nation’s first responders.
