A school system in northern Georgia is considering a proposal that would allow district police to store rifles in school offices in case they’re needed to defend students in a school shooting, Fox News reports.
The Republican-controlled Missouri legislature is expected to enact a statute next month nullifying all federal gun laws in the state and making it a crime for federal agents to enforce them there.
After a warning from state lawyers, the school has revised its policy to allow students and employees with permits to carry concealed firearms in open areas.
States with more gun-control legislation, such as Massachusetts, New Jersey and Connecticut, have lower rates of gun-related deaths than states with fewer gun-control laws.
