In time with the new school year, the University of Arizona is highlighting some of their security measures. University of Arizona has a free emergency alert service for students, faculty and staff.

Access control has been a common concern for college campuses. Most of the Arizona campus' dorms are equipped with a card access system. This system utilizes students' access cards and a four-digit door access code (DAC) number chosen when students checked in to the dorm.

Only residents of the building can gain access by swiping their cards through the card reader and entering their personal four-digit door access codes. The system is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
