Having passed a U.S. State Department crash test, a dramatically different type of anti-terrorist vehicle access control barrier – Hummelstown, Pa.-based PRO Barrier Engineering’s Arrestor -- gets its stopping power from energy-absorbing bands inside a lightweight steel housing. At its crash test last fall at Pennsylvania State University, the barrier stopped dead a 15,000-pound truck traveling at 50 mph.
