New Business Continuity Alliance Offers Training, Consultation, Resources

In mid-April, the Security Executive Council and Michigan State University will launch their new Business Continuity Alliance. This alliance will continue and expand the work of the MSU Critical Incident Protocol (CIP) program, which lost its federal funding last year. The CIP program assisted communities in bringing government and business together for joint crisis management by providing training, consultation and support. The Council and MSU invite all security practitioners from both the public and private sectors to join the Business Continuity Alliance Working Group.

Participants in the working group will receive the following, and more:

• Consultation time with Michigan State University faculty and staff
• Direction and advice on crisis management concerns
• Access to a wide range of MSU content experts in the field of law enforcement, security, business and other areas of asset protection interest
• The opportunity to engage Council Faculty (former senior security executives)
• Peer sharing through staffed virtual meetings
• Current research reports developed by the Council and MSU related to continuity and crisis management
• Deep discounts on conferences and training
• A 30% discount on Council-developed items available in the Leadership Store
• A monthly newsletter focusing on public/private partnerships, business continuity and crisis management issues
