The Little Rock Port Authority has been awarded $570,000 from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to add and upgrade surveillance cameras across the Port's locations.

The Port, which is situated on the Arkansas River and has near instant access to multiple interstates, railways and an airport, will enhance security by installing surveillance cameras throughout its campus using the DHS and FEMA grant.

The upgraded security will protect the Port's 7,000 employees and is one of a series of grants totaling more than $9 million awarded to the Port since 2015.
