Annual Great ShakeOut Prepares for the Next Earthquake
On October 18 at 10:18 am millions of people across the nation will be dropping, covering, and holding on to participate in The Great ShakeOut.
The goal is to spread awareness and help people prepare themselves for when an earthquake could unexpectedly hit.
In 2017, more than 58 million participated.
More information can be found at ShakeOut.org which is managed by the Southern California Earthquake Center (SCEC) at the University of Southern California, with funding from the National Science Foundation, United States Geological Survey, and Federal Emergency Management Agency.
