Major League Baseball announced that former Major League pitcher Bill Bordley, a longtime member of the United States Secret Service, has been appointed Vice President, Security & Facility Management. 

Bordley will be responsible for establishing and directing all of MLB's security and facility management policies, procedures and programs. Bordley will work with the security and stadium operations personnel of all 30 Major League Clubs and will direct security planning for MLB's jewel events.

Bordley has worked for the Secret Service since 1988. As a special agent, Bordley worked on task forces and cases targeting electronic crimes, identity theft and Internet fraud. He has worked in conjunction with law enforcement and intelligence agencies worldwide. Bordley also was assigned to the Presidential Protection Detail for President William J. Clinton.
