Which retail goods are most alluring to professional shoplifters? The list may surprise you. According to a report by the National Retail Federation:
- Meat
- "Hipster" Books
- Drugstore Pills
- Alcohol
- Baby Formula
- Razors for Men
- Brighton Jewelry
- Cosmetics
- Gadgets, Games, and Smartphones
The National Retail Federation report also shows that store theft is now on the decline, if only slightly -- retail theft decreased to 1.44 percent of sales in 2009, down from 1.51 percent in 2008.
