Jeffrey Miller, Senior Vice President at MSA Security, was presented with the Distinguished Leadership Award during the 2016 NCS4 Conference.

The 2016 Distinguished Leadership Award recognizes a professional in the field whose career includes multiple achievements and contributions with respect to sport safety and security. To warrant this prestigious honor, the recipient’s service, commitment, ingenuity and integrity must have elevated the profession to new levels.

Jeffrey Miller was Senior Vice President and Chief Security Officer for the National Football League (NFL), where he served for nearly a decade. Prior to joining the NFL, Miller served as Pennsylvania state police commissioner from 2003-08. Miller held an impressive tenure during his time at the NFL, coordinating directly with the Commissioner’s Office, executive staff, Club Ownership and personnel to lead and supervise all facets of NFL security. This included, but was not limited to investigative programs and services, event security, game integrity program, executive protection, fan conduct initiative, and the stadium security program.

"Jeff’s leadership has been evident during his tenure with the NFL — he has been at the forefront of integrating new security technologies and operating procedures in the league which have affected the entire industry,” said Lou Marciani, Director of NCS4. "Because of his efforts, a strong relationship has been developed between NCS4’s National Sport Security Laboratory and the NFL in vetting and validating potential security solutions. As a nation, we have better safety and security measures in place due to his vision.”

Miller considers it a privilege to receive the Distinguished Leadership Award at the 2016 National Sports Safety and Security Conference for his work at the NFL.

“I am very honored to be recognized by my peers in receiving this prestigious career achievement award,” said Miller. “We would not have been able to push the industry as far as we did without the stalwart support of Commissioner Roger Goodell and our 32 Owners. They understand the importance of this work and provided me with the latitude to implement the measures that I felt were necessary to improve our security posture and protect our fans and venues.”

Miller added, “I had a tremendous team of professionals at the NFL that were as committed as I am to this effort. I truly value the partnerships we have forged with NCS4, the DHS Office of Safety Act Implementation and our peers in professional sports. Collaborative effort is the key to success.”

Now at MSA Security, a leader in high consequence threat protection, intelligence, investigative services and specialized training for corporate and government clients - Miller plays a key role in the company’s strategic growth and business development within the sports and entertainment vertical.
