This fall, students at Troy University’s Continuing Education Center can enroll in a new online certification program in cyber security. Within the program, students will learn the fundamentals of network security, protecting electronic assets, preventing attacks and ensuring consumer privacy, WTVY reports.

“The four-course program will explore the latest research and best practices in the cyber security field, and is taught by professional instructors. The courses will cover a broad range of network security topics including cryptography, vulnerability of web based applications and malware,” the press release says.

Voluntary hands-on labs are also offered within the sessions at the University’s Troy, Ala., campus in order to give students a chance to apply their new skills and knowledge.

Participants who complete all four courses will receive a TROY Cyber Security Certificate and a transcript of the courses completed.
