ASIS International has selected its 2012 ASIS Accolades Award winners, according to a press release.  ASIS Accolades is an awards competition that recognizes the security industry’s most innovative new products, services, and/or solutions.

The winners will be recognized at the ASIS International 58th Annual Seminar and Exhibits (ASIS 2012), held Sept. 10-13 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

A team of judges representing end users and experts in security technologies evaluated more than 40 entries before selecting the top 10 winners.

“This year’s entries presented a unique challenge to the judges,” observes Accolades Co-Chair Ron Lander, CPP, in the press release. “Continued advances in communications and database management yielded a field of products whose cross platform application and integration with existing products and services showed through. The judges were collectively excited and fascinated by the direction security product and service advances are taking.”

Also in the release, co-Chair Howard Belfor, CPP, notes, “The continued growth in database management and the rapid transformation in computing power are maturing products that previously were single dimensional. It would seem that the convergence we are now witnessing is one of shared databases and interoperability on many fronts.”

All Accolades entrants have been invited to display their entries in the Accolades Showcase in the Grand Hall. Additionally, winners will be highlighted, along with other new products during the Seminar’s “What’s New on the Floor” session, on Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 1:45-3:00 p.m. in Room 114 of the Pennsylvania Convention Center, the press release reports.

More than 20,000 security, business and government professionals from 90 countries are expected to attend ASIS 2012, the press release states. The event’s comprehensive education program will offer more than 200 sessions and boast an exhibit floor featuring some 700 companies across more than 230,000 net square feet.
