Axis Communications has finalized the development of its hardware and software platforms. The new video chip, ARTPEC-2, will enable the new generation of products to deliver a wide range of improved functionality and performance, including superior image quality through built-in image sharpening, backlight compensation, noise reduction and white balance; support for a variety of CCD and CMOS sensors, up to multi-megapixel resolutions; and real-time compression of up to 45 megapixels per second.
