Julie Peel has been named Transdev’s vice president of safety and security.

Peel joined Transdev in August 2015 as safety and training director for the paratransit contract with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority in greater Washington, D.C. From there, she was promoted in early 2018 to regional safety director, Northeast region.

“Julie has distinguished herself with strong credentials and many accomplishments in multiple domains of safety performance, including stronger root cause analysis, accident mitigation plans and developing standardized protocols and processes,” said Francois Regembal, chief safety and quality officer. “She is passionate about ensuring the quality of ongoing safety coaching and training, partnering with many of our locations to mobilize our teams and deepen the commitment and personal accountability for safety.”

Peel joined the transit industry in 2012 and worked for a competitor in the greater Washington, D.C., area for three years prior to joining Transdev. She has a degree in Justice Studies from Georgia Southern University and holds multiple industry certifications.
