Mark Hargarves, Head of Corporate Security at The Hong Kong Jockey Club and chairman of the Asia Crisis & Security Group, passed away suddenly on December 10, 2019.

Hargraves also had previous enterprise security roles with Fidelity, HSBC, and Citi. 

Jerry Brennan, Chief Executive for Security Management Resources, Inc., and columnist to Security magazine, shares the following: "For those that knew Mark, he was an influential leader in the security industry across Asia Pacific, stretching his considerable influence and skills globally. His early career saw him serve as a Senior Inspector in the Hong Kong Police Force followed by an successful career in corporate security hold a number of senior security leadership roles.  His career path included Pinkerton Asia Ltd., Sun Microsystems, Fidelity, HSBC, Citi and latterly for the prestigious Hong Kong Jockey Club. Mark’s commitment to furthering professionalism in the industry was boundless. He brought people together, encouraged, shared knowledge, and mentored new entrants into the security industry. Mark was also the leading force in the Asia Crisis & Security Group and advanced cooperative relationship between a wide variety of leading security organizations. He was a great friend and he will be sorely missed."
