Kalamazoo Public Schools are increasing security measures around the school district.
A news report says, at a meeting, the Board of Education approved $59,000 to purchase technology to better secure entrances at eight school buildings. The entrance changes will take place at El Sol, Hillside Middle, Lincoln International Studies, Milwood Magnet, Northglade Montessori, Prairie Ridge Elementary, Spring Valley Elementary and Woods Lake Elementary. The changes will make visitors go through the school office first before they can enter the rest of the building, increasing prevention measures.
