Schools in Pennsylvannia Receive Funding for School Security
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s (PCCD) School Safety and Security Committee has awarded Charleroi School District a $521,498 grant for school security initiatives, according to a news report.
This initiative is a large effort of Act 44, which grants school districts, intermediate units, area vocational-technical schools, charter schools and private residential rehabilitation institutions eligibility to apply up to a maximum of $6 million to support one school safety. The School Safety and Security committee approved $40 million in school safety grants to 234 school entities plus $7.5 million in community violence prevention and reduction grants to 25 grant recipients throughout the commonwealth.
