Massive Coin Theft at Mint of Finland
Finnish police are investigating a suspected robbery of tens of thousands of euros in coins from the Mint of Finland, Finnish media reported.
Police said the missing money was in the form of one and two euro coins. The stealing began in spring of 2009 and lasted until last week. Police have detained several people, including the production chief of the mint.
The Mint of Finland, a state-owned company, mints ordinary coins as well as commemorative coins and medals.
