Evanston Ill. to Add 15 Cameras With Federal Money
April 28, 2010
Evanston, Ill. aldermen have voted to add 15 overhead police security cameras to the north suburb's downtown and south and west sides.
Federal grant money will be used for the $341,000 program.
Police Chief Richard Eddington described the cameras as a "force multiplier," helping police offset recent budget cuts by giving them increased presence in some areas.
