Security surrounding the family of BP boss Tony Hayward has been stepped up after the family began receiving hate mail.

 

Wife Maureen has suffered threats from campaigners over the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, the London Evening Standard reported.

 

Kent police sources told the Standard there was an "ongoing operation" to protect the couple and their two children as the oil spill crisis enters its 50th day. Letters had been sent to their UK home which had made them feel "uncomfortable," Mrs Hayward said.
