The Military Police of Brazil announced that they will begin their preparation towards the security of the 2014 World Cup. The Pacaembu stadium, home to the Corinthians soccer team, will be the location of the group's first simulation.
The Military Police will bring together special units from all over Brazil, such as their SWAT teams, the Special Group of Tactical Actions (GATE), the Commandos and Special Operations, Firemen, the K-9 unit and the Arial Group of the Military Police. The event will test equipment specific to fighting crime, such as cameras, areal pictures and facial biometrics. The technology and training will also be used for the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
