Auburn spent approximately $75,000 for a security firm to conduct curfew checks of football players last season.

Bills show Auburn was charged about $77,200 by Event Operations Group (EOG), a security firm several SEC teams use for game-day operations, said AL.com. 

The firm began monitoring curfews after center Reese Dismukes' arrest on public intoxication charges last summer, continuing a rash of off-the-field incidents under former Auburn coach Gene Chizik, said AL.com. Auburn is no longer using the security firm for curfews, said Cassie Arner, assistant athletics director for public relations.

The Montgomery Advertiser first reported last November that EOG staff members were going to the off-campus homes of football players and confirming they were home by the team's 11 p.m. curfew.

Auburn's contact for the security checks was Ben Thomas, the football team's director of player development.
