The Security Industry Association presented Jeannine Lane, V.P. and General Cousel for Honeywell International, with its Statesman Award to recognize her leadership on SIA's Government Relations Committee. The SIA Statesman award is the highest award presented to a SIA volunteer who makes significant contributions toward the attainment of SIA's government relations goals.

 

Lane was essential in driving policy and coordinating industry support to correct the Energy Independence and Security Act (EISA) of 2007, helping to draft legislative language which was recently introduced in the House of Representatives. In addition, she was a key participant in developing SIA's position opposing New York State legislation that would have eroded liability protections provided to alarm manufacturers. Lane also was instrumental in developing SIA's position against the Department of Transportation proposal to further regulate the transport of lithium batteries.
