Police arrested a city employee in Pinellas Park, Fla. last week and charged him with stealing scrap copper from the city.
The city retains old water meters and other metals that it sells. At least one co-worker saw Timothy Dineen poking around the area where the scrap metals are kept, although he had no reason to be there. Another co-worker reported seeing copper in the back of his city truck in the late afternoon that was gone the next morning.
