Accenture’s 2025 State of Cybersecurity Resilience report reveals that a majority of large organizations (90%) are not prepared to protect against the increasing AI threat. This suggests that the scale, sophistication and speed of AI threats is surpassing the evolution of modern enterprise cybersecurity.
Furthermore, the report found that 77% of organizations are lacking in the necessary AI and data security practices to defend data pipelines, cloud infrastructure and critical business models. Although AI adoption has grown in enterprises, only 22% of organizations have enacted policies for AI training and usage, and very few have a complete inventory of AI systems.
Moreover, data security measures are insufficient, as only 25% of organizations are fully leveraging access controls and encryption to protect sensitive information.
This report involves a survey of 2,286 executives in cybersecurity and technology, including large organizations from across the globe.
