From Vicon, an ISC SIA New Product Showcase entry, Vicon’s new V1500-CPU is a network-ready central controller for matrix switching systems and video peripherals such as camera dome systems, keypads and receivers. An all-new PC-based design allows the V1500-CPU to control local and remote switching systems, creating large distributed security and video communication applications on local, national and global scales. Through a companion V1500-CDU communication distribution unit, theV1500-CPU can extend beyond the normal network environment to communicate with today’s existing non-network based system components. The V1500-CDU acts as a gateway, converting Ethernet communication into Vicon’s standard RS-422 protocol for keypads, dome cameras, distribution units and matrix switching systems.
• Supports over 8,000 cameras, 500 monitors and 64 keypad stations
• 100 Base-T Ethernet connectivity
• Complete system redundancy through active hot stand-by
• Embedded graphic interface for programming and operation
• Windows-based
• Modular distribution unit is configurable for specific system requirements
• Switching systems can be a mixture of local and remote.
