A North Carolina Senate committee Tuesday amended sweeping pro-gun legislation under consideration in order to make it easier to purchase a gun without a background check, The Huffington Post reports.
The state Senate Judiciary 1 Committee voted to allow for the private purchase of guns in the state without a permit, including from gun shows. A permit and background check would still be required for purchasing a gun from a licensed dealer.
