Southern California’s Meade High School became one of the first to begin a four-year course in domestic security. This area is one of the fastest growing industries, according to a report in the Los Angeles Times.

According to the coverage, Meade offers its 2,150 students a standard high school curriculum, including electives like advanced calculus and carpentry. But the 90 ninth-graders who chose the new homeland security program this last school year centered on topics such as Islamic jihadism, nuclear arms, cyber-crime, domestic militias and others.
