Matthew Horace

Matthew Horace currently serves as the Chief Security Officer and Senior Vice President for Pretium, one of the nation’s leading private equity firms. In this role he leads the security apparatus for Pretium and its’ five operating companies to include Progress Residential, and BH Companies, two industry leading providers of single family and multifamily housing. He is based in Atlanta Georgia. He previously served as the Chief Security Officer of The Mayo Clinic, Dominion Voting Systems and FJC Security Services. He is a twenty-eight-year veteran of federal, state, and local law enforcement, ascending to the Senior Executive Service (SES) rank in the United States Department of Justice managing local, regional, national, and international investigations. During his law enforcement career, he worked in every state in the United States and a many foreign countries. He has also served as a paid on-air subject matter expert on law enforcement and security matters with CNN, NBC, CBS and ABC and wrote for The Wall Street Journal Crisis of the Week Column. A standout student athlete at Delaware State University, he earned a BA in English and was afforded a tryout with the New York Giants. He also earned an MA in Human Resources Leadership and Training from Seton Hall University. Horace considers “mentoring for a lifetime” a personal priority and is passionate about leadership, building inclusive teams and leading through crisis. Horace credits many of his life’s successes to lessons he learned as an NCAA student athlete. including the ability to bounce back from adversity
