Kit Bartels is a recruiter with Security & Investigative Placement Consultants. Prior to this role, she enjoyed a 22-year career at the U.S. Department of State, serving in the Bureau of Diplomatic Security as a Middle East threat analyst and later as outreach director in the Overseas Security Advisory Council. Her interest in the intersection of security, higher education, and civil society led to senior leadership roles in other parts of the Department focused on community engagement, such as the Fulbright Scholarship Program and American Spaces (the USG’s information centers overseas). Kit has also served as an intelligence officer in the U.S. Air Force. She received a BA in Linguistics from Miami University (OH) and an MA in Near Eastern Studies from the University of Arizona.
