Michigan State University (MSU) has installed 300 more surveillance cameras in and around student residential areas, according to an internal campus email.

Since the November disappearance and fatal drowning of Brendan Santo, a teenager visiting MSU students, the MSU Police Department has instituted various campus safety measures, including a security app and a police advisory committee.

The cameras included in the campus surveillance initiative have been positioned at entryways and exits in and around student dormitories, as well as in common areas, according to the email.
