The U.S. Army's Security Surveillance System (SSS) has implemented radar technology to bolster its security posture.

Radars can provide increased detection ranges and early warning of potential ground and air threats. With the radars' metamaterials electronically scanned array (MESA) technology in the mix, the security system can maintain 4D data on the approaching object, whether human, vehicle, boat or drone.

The radars, provided by Echodyne, will be in use by the SSS for the next five years. The radars represent one part of the SSS, which has progressed past the development and design phases.
