Lowndes County Emergency Management has added two additional WeatherSTEM stations throughout the Georgia county. The stations include multiple weather sensors and systems and will provide the Lowndes County Emergency Management team access to real-time local weather data.

Each station is equipped with a surveillance camera streaming live video, enabling anyone to see current weather conditions at station located in Lowndes County.

These weather stations collect more accurate, real-time data that forecasters with the National Weather Service can use to monitor approaching storms and provide better forecasting for the area. Emergency management and first responders having access to more real-time data will aid them in their responses to weather-related emergency situations.
